Launches Push to Mobilize Environmental Voters State-Wide

Environment Virginia

Richmond – Environment Virginia reiterated today its endorsement of Terry McAuliffe for Governor of Virginia, just as the group prepares to launch a get out the vote and voter education push state-wide leading up to Election Day on Tuesday, November 2.

Environment Virginia, alongside its thousands of members and supporters, understands the stakes in this year’s statewide elections. Virginia has made monumental strides over the past decade towards a sustainable present and future, from commitments to 100% clean electricity and the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to phasing out the harmful use of single-use polystyrene that pollutes our waterways.

“With the devastating effects of climate change right in front of us, we can’t afford to go back,” said Elly Boehmer, Environment Virginia’s State Director. “Virginia has been leading the way in the American South, and ensuring that Terry McAuliffe becomes our governor once again is critical to the health and well being of both Virginia’s environment and families. His record and promises are a past and future we can trust.”
